Either for virtual training scenarios, training, ergonomic studies, feasibility studies or assembly simulation: The analysis of hand movement data can have a crucial impact on decisions. In addition, it is worthwhile to pretrain motion sequences virtually. The advantages in terms of error and accident prevention are significant across all industries. The experience of the virtual representation of real hand movements combined with tactile feedback on the back of the hand is an enormous enrichment for the interaction with virtual data.
Haptic feedback creates a deeper intrinsic understanding of the VR content experienced. Furthermore, objects outside the field of view can be sensed. Movement sequences that have to be executed outside of the field of view can thus be simulated and trained more effectively.
THE MANUS PRIME ONE
consists of a stretchy, antibacterial material, which adapts very flexibly and comfortably to different hand sizes. The fingertips are exposed, which allows the palpation of surface structures and the gripping of real objects without obstacles. The data gloves feel light and comfortable.
THE MANUS PRIME HAPTIC
has additional linear resonance actuators on the fingertips that transmit haptic signals. The signals can be adjusted to different strengths for specific application scenarios. The haptic GUI can also be used to adjust the signal resonance and frequency.
Bending sensors measure the angular position of the fingers. They are placed on a protective layer sewn into the antistatic fabric. The sensors are stably positioned in the glove. This ensures a permanently high quality of movement measurement. The bending sensors are immune to magnetic interference fields.
The hand position is located in the room by a hand-tracker. The Manus Prime Edition comes with a tracker strap for HTC Vive Tracker, which can be used for position tracking. Alternatively targets for other tracking systems can be used (ART, Optitrack, Vicon, …).

Each hand is individual. With the MANUS APOLLO software the data glove can be calibrated individually. The individual settings are calibrated once, can be saved in user profiles and called up at the touch of a button. The software offers further setting options such as frequencies and finger pinch. In addition, information on bending behaviour, battery status and latency can be read out.
UNITY PLUGIN FOR APOLLO 2020
Use your gloves directly in Unity with the interaction framework that is directly integrated with VRTK. You will then be able to start in UNITY in a few minutes.
The HERMES SDK allows you to implement the functionalities of the data glove directly into your own software. Access all data, communicate directly and set your customized Glove Data Pipeline. The SDK is compatible with C, C++ and C#.

Use the MANUS PRIME ONE directly in UNREAL. Blueprints or C++ will give you access to all generated data, so you can start developing your application today.
